THE CIVILIANS REUNITE...ONE MORE TIME....AND DID!
Changes-a-coming in 2024. In the meantime...
It went down. A good time was had and much money was raised. As frontman Jim Hebler said, "@The Loving Touch Soul Hustler Showcase Series, Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. JC & The Disciples were a Revelation, joined by the Great Johnny Evans on Sax, The Burros had one of the night's best moments covering Like A Hurricane by Neil Young, Tea Bag pulled the crowd on the stage with their medley of Tom Petty classics on the Great One's Birthday, The Civilians kept the crowd up front as David Galens' guitar work dazzled with the Sparks-Henderson rhythm section; Amy Gore -N- Spades were superb anchored by Joey Leone and jackson Smith on drums-guitars (Amy in GREAT VOICE) and then - graciously anchoring the Headline Spot - See Dick Run ran a clinic on Pop-Rock-Ass-Shaking sweet-spot brilliance."
Well said, Mr. Hebler. Well over $3000 was raised for red Cross Hurricane Relief. Pictures and blackmail video on the way this week. Stay tuned!!!
Civilians Reunion Show April 8th was a smash hit!!
If you weren't there at The Loving Touch in April, you missed a good one! Thanks to The Burros, American Mars and the staff for helping us put on a fun show! There are pictures. There is video. There is audio!
We are STILL processing, editing and collating a ton of media from the show and we can't wait to share it with you. Stay tuned!
The Civilians were an original band from Detroit, with touchstones in alternative, R & B, and meat and potatoes rock and roll. Despite drawing from familiar influences, the band has forged their own unique sound amid an ocean of imitators; they are an entity unto themselves. Urgent vocals, three-part harmonies, and unique arrangements all unite to inform the bands aggressive pop sensibilities.
